You've seen him on Youtube and have been watching his videos. Now's your chance to spend some dirt time with Sean 'The Silver Fox'. Come and spend the day or the whole weekend with Sean 'The Silver Fox'.
Silver Fox Bushcraft deliver a wide range of activities from short taster sessions including wild food walks, bush tucker trials, and introductory bushcraft days. Going on to more in depth weekend courses. Silver Fox Bushcraft and Sean 'The Silver Fox' can be hired to run private events for your own group (minimum of 6 people). These events can be held in Somerset in our woodland or if you have access to a venue in your area. Silver Fox Bushcraft and Sean 'The Silver Fox' can tailor courses to suit your requirements.
Our activities are not 'Macho' survivalist style courses, we take a steady pace and stop frequently to discuss features and finds. Some events are suitable for older people and young children, please ring to enquire. On a Silver Fox Bushcraft course you will not only learn how to survive but how to thrive in the woods.
Courses are individually designed to meet your group needs, catering for corporate and team building days, junior bushcraft awareness and all you need to know for camp etiquette. 'Silver Fox Bushcraft' offers you courses with experienced instructors in the beautiful county of Somerset.
Our courses will be based around the very popular Silver Fox Bushcraft courses cover the four aspects of bushcraft - shelter, fire, food and water. We have a wild food walk where you will learn to identify and taste various edible plants and trees, bugs and insects.
Also one the walk we will discuss and show many other natural resources we can use to make our time in the woods more enjoyable. Subject to availability we also have wild game and show how to prepare them for the pot (vegetarians will be catered for). Nothing goes to waste, we even use the skins and will demonstrate how to start the tanning process.
We will demonstrate knife and tool handling and safety. How to build a fire and demonstrate different types of fire lays. We will cover different types of natural tinder's as well as emergency fire lighting. We also cover friction fire lighting and let our students have a go and practice tying useful knots. We will discuss finding water and making it safe to drink although on the Mendips there are no rivers so we have mains water on site.
We will also demonstrate wood carving and will let you carve your own spoon which you will be able to use for your own meals if completed in time (knives are required for this task which we will supply). Natural cordage. Time permitting we will also demonstrate primitive hunting and trapping techniques. Various types of debris, natural, and improvised shelters, (only available on the 2 day courses due to time constraints). We can supply tarps if required for the overnight camping.
As you can see, our courses are packed full of information and longer courses can be arranged where we can go over in more details the topics covered. We can also focus more on the craft skills like natural cordage, basketry and clay pot making. These are for group bookings only.
Silver Fox Bushcraft run 1 or 2 day courses (which included 1 night wild camping in the woods). The courses are £65 per person for the 1 day course and £165 per person for the 2 day course, with a minimum of 6 people - maximum 16 people. All food and cooking utensils are supplied.

Wild Camping Weekends
Wild camping weekends are a chance for you to practice your Bushcraft skills in a woodland setting. These weekends are NOT courses and you will be responsible for your self. You will also need to bring all of your own food and equipment. There is mains water on site.
The wild camping weekend will be held at our site on the Mendip Hills, Somerset, Near Bristol Airport.
Wild Camping Weekend - Cost £20 per person for the weekend.

1 Day Wild Food Walk
On our 1 day wild food walks we will teach you how to recognise various wild edible plants and roots. We will discuss the medicinal uses of many plants as well as the folklore and mythology behind many of the trees and plants. We even cover bugs and insects. You will be given the opportunity to try many of the foods on the walk.
